Save the Date! Education, Open Participation and Democracy: Critical Reflections

Alle Interessierten, ob Teilnehmende der OEB Global Konferenz oder nicht, sind herzlich eingeladen. Die Registrierung werden wir im Lauf des Oktobers öffnen. Die Veranstaltungssprache wird Englisch sein. Ende November lockt die OEB Global Menschen aus aller Welt nach Berlin, die sich für den Einsatz von Technologie im Kontext von Lehren und Lernen interessieren. Diese Menschen möchten wir – genau wie alle anderen auch – einladen, an diesem Abend gemeinsam mit uns und eingeladenen Expertinnen und Experten über die Bedeutung von Offenheit und demokratischer Partizipation in Lehren und Lernen zu diskutieren. Hier das gemeinsame “Save the Date” von Wikimedia Deutschland und ALT, die auch die sehr empfehlenswerten OER Konferenzen veranstalten.
The Association for Learning Technology (ALT) and Wikimedia Deutschland are inviting you to an open evening “Education, open participation and democracy: critical reflections”. The event, inspired by the OER20 Conference theme “The Care in Openness” will focus on the ways in which Openness, individuals and communities can foster a participatory and democratic culture in Open work and in society in general.
The event will take place on Nov 27th, 2019, from 4pm – 10pm (CEST), in the main offices of Wikimedia Deutschland in Berlin. This is a new collaborative venture ahead of next year’s OER20 conference putting the focus on open debate and critical reflections at a time when open education is more contested than ever.
Among many others Laura Czerniewicz, Maren Deepwell and Martin Hawksey from ALT will join us in Berlin. A list of speakers and participants will be announced later this fall. The event will run in parallel to #OEB19, so please come around and visit us at Wikimedia Deutschland and join the event. This is also the place where we will announce when the registration for this cost-free event will be open to the public.
