10 years ago, a group of twelve people in Berlin laid the foundation for what is now the world's largest free knowledge database: Wikidata was launched on October 29, 2012. Wikidata exceeds 100 million entries

The free knowledge database Wikidata, which serves among other things as a source for the more than 300 language versions of Wikipedia, has reached the mark of 100 million items (read: data objects).
